Canada study permit document checklist
This is the list behind a study permit application, taken from the checklist IRCC publishes — the same list this tool reads when you paste yours in. Below it: the IRCC forms those documents imply, which of them are filled for you, and the parts nobody can do on your behalf.

Questions this page gets asked
What IRCC forms does a study permit application need?
IMM 1294 is the application itself, and a family information form goes with it: IMM 5645, or IMM 5707 if you apply online. Only when they apply to you: IMM 5562 for your travels, IMM 5476 if a representative acts for you, IMM 5475 to release your information to someone, IMM 5409 for a common-law declaration, and IMM 5646 for a custodian of a minor applicant.
Can I fill these forms by hand?
The forms are XFA: they check themselves as you type, and those checks are what catch a date in the wrong format or a value that is not one of the form's options. Hand-filling is accepted, but you lose the form's own validation. The packages here are opened by Adobe Acrobat Reader, which does the filling, and the published PDF inside them is left byte-identical.
Does this tool tell me whether I will be approved?
No, and no tool can. It compares the forms you have filled against each other and against each form's own rules: the same fact in two files, a required field left empty, a value that is not one of that form's options, a signature still missing. The decision is the officer's.
Are my answers or my documents uploaded?
No. Reading your checklist, answering the questions, filling the forms and checking them all happen in your browser tab. Buying is the only step that involves a server, and it receives nothing about your application.
Can it produce the acceptance letter or the proof of funds?
No, and neither can any software: the acceptance letter comes from your school and the money from your bank. What this does is list them back to you as your own work, so the requirements that are easy to forget are in front of you while you assemble the application.
